CfP IASGP 2024 Annual Conference – “Divisions domestically and beyond: German politics in 2024”
This year’s conference will take place on 12th – 13th December 2024 in Darmstadt (Technical University), Germany, on the theme “Divisions domestically and beyond: German politics in 2024”.
The conference will include presentations of academic papers, but also the annual German Politics lecture, and many networking opportunities. Taking part in the conference is indeed a great opportunity to present work and get feedback on research, but also to meet people working on German politics from a range of countries, career stages, and disciplinary approaches.
We are now accepting abstracts of not more than 500 words until 11th October 2024. Abstracts should be sent to intasgp@gmail.com.
Papers addressing any aspect of German politics and international relations will be welcome, as will papers on the politics of other German-speaking countries. Submitters should be prepared to circulate a written version of the paper at least two weeks before the conference. The Association especially encourages women, and young scholars from around the world to submit their papers.
This year’s conference will include an event designed for graduate students and early career researchers. This will provide a networking opportunity the evening before the main conference, followed by a workshop offering the opportunity to present work to contemporaries, as well as having the opportunity to hear from editors of our journal German Politics. Please note that graduate students and young scholars have the opportunity to present their work either during this event or during the main conference.

11 October 2024: Deadline for submission of abstracts
25 October 2024: Programme published / registration opens
8 November 2024: Registration deadline
6 December 2024: Deadline for paper circulation
11 December 2024: Event for postgraduates / early career researchers
12-13 December 2024: Conference (likely to start Thursday around 12 noon, and finish by mid-afternoon on Friday)
Financial support (reduced conference fees and travel bursary) is available for doctoral students and/or who would face a financial barrier to participation.
