This is a joint event between Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, The Federal Trust and Global Policy Institute.

The two pillars on which the European defence and security framework rests have been shaken in recent years: The commitment to the transatlantic alliance of NATO has been challenged during the Trump administration, while Brexit means that the EU has witnessed the departure of one of its strongest military players. Will the new US administration under Joe Biden change the path set out by Trump, and what will be the longer term implications of Brexit for British and EU foreign, defence and security policy?

Speakers will discuss these shifting geopolitical parameters from a German, British and EU perspective and will share their views on the future development of European and British foreign, defence and security policy.
